Biographies - Executive
Claudia Ferris is a communications professional with 25 years experience working collaboratively with stakeholder groups to find constructive solutions. Claudia has the ability to focus on issues, talk about problems and create positive results based on best practices and examples. Claudia has been President of Production Magic Ltd., a video and communications company since its inception in 1987.
Claudia and her family moved to Elphinstone on the Sunshine Coast full time in 2006. She has been an active director on the GDCC board since 2009. Her other community involvements include being a board member of the Sunshine Coast Community Forest, a member of the Community Forest Advisory Committee, a board member of the Sunshine Coast Labour Council, and a committee member on the Town of Gibsons Infrastructure Services Committee.
She has been part of the leadership team of First Gibsons Scouts since 1998.
Michele Platje Devlin

An SFU Alumni, Michele's academic background is founded in public policy and the culture of technology. She has been a policy advisor to government, corporations and academia, and has publications in Economics, Communication and Geography.
Michele was an emergency preparedness/disaster management consultant for several years before starting a policy and marketing company with her husband Stephen Devlin which specialized in the real estate, life insurance, money management and mortgage broker industries. The MacDev Financial Group Corp. is headquartered in Gibsons Landing, with trusted advisors in Red Deer, Alberta, and Toronto, Ontario. Through safe and secure investments rooted in Life Insurance, Income Planning, and Mortgage Strategies, MacDev Financial takes care of their clients' needs in Life, Wealth, and Legacy.
Along with her business partners, Michele teaches money management seminars. She also writes a money management blog and volunteers for several local organizations. She and her husband have lived on the Sunshine Coast for over 10 years and are raising their young son.
Dean Walford is the owner of an Eastern-based Mortgage Company. He is currently setting up a local credit consulting firm. Dean has been a small business owner for 10 years and understands the challenges of running a business remotely from a home based office. Dean served as the Executive Director for the Chamber in 2009, a position that allowed him to gain first-hand experience of the needs of the Chamber's membership. He has also worked closely with the other business organizations on the Sunshine Coast and looks forward to strengthening those relationships.
Dean is a Director with the Gibsons Rotary Club and a long time Scout Leader in the community.
Rinette comes from a family of bookkeepers and accountants, and has provided bookkeeping and administrative services for businesses in many fields. Her experience includes accounting/bookkeeping for property management, retail and service businesses, and non-profits. She worked as a payroll clerk for a regional district, where she gained experience with specialized computer accounting software, and then started her own small business, Net Bookkeeping.
Rinette has a Diploma in Business Management and is a designated Payroll Administrator with the Canadian Payroll Association. The mother of four active and very busy children, and I currently runs her bookkeeping business from home.
Mr. Chisholm is a software developer and eBusiness consultant with over 25 years of professional experience. He has extensive expertise in database and application development, and has spent the last 10 years exclusively developing web based applications. He rigorously maintains high professional standards and ethics in every project he is a part of.
Biographies - Directors
Raised in the small community of Astorville, Ontario by community oriented parents, Rodney Bessette has always had a sincere desire to give back and make a difference in his own community. He is the Owner of One Stop Contracting, specializing in excavation, rock work, drainage, trucking, equipment moves and forklift services.
Rodney connections in the construction industry are valuable to the volunteer work at the Chamber. He also has extensive experience working with teams of volunteers and staff in the outdoor recreation industry. He has held the position of grooming operator at Dakota Ridge and assisted in the training of other volunteer operators to develop fully functional maintenance.
He believes in the value of Chamber memberships striving for a better community.
After graduating from school, Cindy Enevoldson moved to the Azores and lived in Vila Franca, a small town on the Island of S.Miguel, where she was director of a beachfront hotel and also volunteered as an English tutor for local youths. She loved the way everyone worked together to support each other and their town, and enjoyed the challenge of promoting tourism and event planning while always keeping the best interests of the people and the Island's ecosystem in mind.
After four years, Cindy returned to Canada and moved with her family to the Sunshine Coast. While raising her first child she volunteered with the Sunshine Coast Skating Club, the women's soccer league, and in the schools. Return to work, she took a job as a sales associate at the Vancouver Coach Store, then as an office Manager for a Chiropractor, and then started as a customer service representative for CIBC. Within a year she became the Manager of the Sechelt Branch, after two years she was promoted to Manager of the Gibson's branch. She is currently the Manager of both branches.
Cindy volunteers with Rotary and the Sunshine Coast Youth Soccer Association. She believes that it takes a community to raise a child and that the Sunshine Coast is a fabulous community to live in.
Nancy has a BA in Communications and Drama, and a Certificate of Fundraising Management (with honours) from BCIT. While living on Vancouver Island, she worked for Haven Society in Nanaimo, and then helped the Nanaimo Brain Injury Society set up a fundraising program. She was also made a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Victoria Branch, at which time she was also hired by The Land Conservancy as a major gift fundraiser to spearhead the campaign that raised over $740,000 to secure the childhood home Joy Kogawa, author of Obasan.
Since moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2001, Nancy has worked in sales. She first worked for Kidzsmart, creator and supplier of kids' activities and games mostly for the restaurant industry in North America, and then joined the Coast Reporter. Nancy was named the 2011 Top Sales Representative by Glacier Media, Coast Reporter's parent company, in an annual competition with 42 sales reps throughout the province.
Nancy and her husband live in Gibsons, where they purchased their first home. Together they can't think of a better place on earth to be right now. Nancy is Member at Large on the Board of Directors of the Gibsons and District Chamber of Commerce.
