Workshop May 31: Taking Action Against Fraud

The Gibsons Chamber is pleased to present a timely workshop for all small business owners, just in time for the busy season when fraud, scams, and cheats are typically at their busiest. Industry professional Marc Laflamme will discuss Taking Action Against Fraud on Wednesday, May 31 from 5.30 to 7pm at the Gibsons Chamber boardroom.

Fraud is an increasing threat to all, especially small businesses  The Payment Card Industry (PCI) now holds the merchant responsible for compliance with the standards for accepting debit or credit cards. Every merchant is required to adhere to these standards. Do you know what they are?

This workshop will be relevant to anyone who accepts payment cards (debit, charge, credit), and especially those in the Retail or Tourism & Hospitality sector including Hotels, Resorts, Food & Beverage. 


Learn to

· recognize common frauds; 

· implement strategies to reduce exposure to fraud;

· mitigate financial risk; 

· apply 'best practices' & procedures in PCI compliance.
