Position Statements

We want you to know where the Chamber stands on important local issues. If you are a member and disagree with a position we are taking on your behalf, we would like to hear from you. If we receive many comments on a position we will seek out a spokesperson to attend our board meeting and present an alternative position for the board’s consideration.

Development

Position: The Chamber supports the Town of Gibsons and Sunshine Coast Regional Dristrict’s process for consideration of Development (residential and commercial) projects and encourages the ongoing approval of the Official Community Plan amendment needed to continue that process.
