The Gibsons & District Chamber of Commerce offers an annual Bursary of $500 to a graduating student of Elphinstone Secondary School who is entering a program of business studies at a post-secondary institution. The bursary is awarded to a student with top scholastic achievement who is also an exceptional community citizen. Application forms are available through the school, and the annual deadline is May 10.
2014 - Emily Paterson
Congratulations to our 2014 Bursary winner, Emily Paterson. In addition to maintaining a top academic average of 90% in her senior year, Emily found time to take part in many volunteer activities in the community. She was part of the Elphinstone Interact Club for three years, and was Secretary of the Grad Council. She grew her leadership skills through many years in the Girl Guides, and also volunteered for the Lions Club, Christenson Village and the United Church. Emily enrolled in Social Sciences at the University of Victoria.

2013 - Henry Telfer
Congratulations to our 2013 Bursary winner, Henry Telfer. Henry was one of Elphinstone Secondary's top academic students and a fixture on the Honour Roll. He also has a passion for sports, participating in basketball, hockey, soccer, cross-country and track and field, and he participated in the school's InterAct Club, raising money for charity. Henry is enrolled in the Bachelor of Management Program at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna. We wish him the very best in his academic career and in the world of business.
